Race Across America Bike Team Hosts Fundraiser in Southport FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The RAAMcancer team, which is participating in a 3,000-mile Race Across America in June, is hosting a cocktail party fundraiser Saturday, May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Connecticut Challenge Center for Survivorship. Greenwich Cheer Team Earns Silver Medal At Nationals GREENWICH, Conn. – The Greenwich-based CT Spirit All-Stars Amazonites team, made up of 15 girls ages 14 and under, won a silver medal at the U.S. Finals earlier this month in Providence, R.I. Amazonites competed against seven teams in the Small Junior Level 2 division and missed first place by less than one point. New Canaan Red U12 Girls Soccer Team Nets Shutout NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan Red Under-12 girls soccer team defeated the Bridgeport All-Stars, 2-0, in a Mother’s Day game Sunday in Bridgeport. Afterward, the girls presented their mothers with flowers to commemorate the day. Jessie Dolby and Lucy Coutts scored for New Canaan. Claire Ross and Kendall Patten collected assists. Norwalk's Calf Pasture Hosts Pancreatic Cancer Walk NORWALK, Conn. – The second annual Tom’s Cure Walk to benefit pancreatic cancer research will be held Sunday, May 19, at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. The walk honors Tom Arthur, a former Norwalk resident and store president at Stew Leonard’s. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the three-mile walk begins at 10.
