Stamford Zumbathon Planned To Help Women In Cambodia STAMFORD, Conn. – A Zumbathon to support WAVE (Women Against Violence Everywhere), will be held May 18 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Stamford. Tickets are $15 before May 18, and $20 at the door. White Plains Chelsea U10s Advance To Soccer Semifinals WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Youth Soccer Chelsea boys under-10 travel soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer State Cup with a 4-1 win over the Plain Old Beth Page. White Plains Chelsea is coached by Alejandro Galeano and plays in the Westchester Youth Soccer League Division 1. It is also undefeated in the New York Club Soccer League, Premier League Division 2. 3 Hendrick Hudson Girls Commit To College Lacrosse Teams CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Three players on the Hendrick Hudson High School girls lacrosse team signed letters of intent to continue playing the sport in college. Lindsey Luposello and Kennedy Sherman have committed to play at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Angela Marriott has committed to play lacrosse and soccer at the State University of New York-Morrisville. New Stamford Store Gives Running Shoes To Boys & Girls Club STAMFORD, Conn. – Fleet Feet Sports Stamford, scheduled to open at 168 Bedford St. in late May, will provide running shoes to 25 children from the Boys & Girls Club and Stamford for the RFR Realty 5K Run/Walk on Thursday, May 16. Swim Across America In Stamford Scheduled For June 22 STAMFORD AND GREENWICH, Conn. – Swim Across America will host an open water swim on June 22. The race begins in Stamford and travels to Greenwich. Proceeds benefit the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy, which is the nation’s only foundation dedicated exclusively to funding cancer gene therapy research. Swim distances are one half mile, 1.5 miles, three miles and five miles. There are also volunteer opportunities for boaters, kayakers and land support.
