Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jersey Shore Crash Victim Airlifted To Hospital An elderly woman was being airlifted to an Ocean County hospital after a serious car crash, authorities said. The crash occurred about 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Bey Lea Road and Old Freehold Road in Toms River, according to initial reports. An unconfirmed report said that the victim, about 63 years old, had suffered a lower extremity injury and that a tourniquet had been applied. Trenton Man Critically Wounded In Shooting An unidentified victim was shot multiple times in Trenton on Wednesday morning, authorities said. Trenton police responded to a report of shots fired about 11:30 a.m. near Olden and New York Avenues While officers were at the scene of the shooting, they were notified that a victim had arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle. Prosecutor: Jersey Shore Sex Offender Failed To Register A 61-year-old convicted sex offender from Ocean County failed to let authorities know where he has been living, they said. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said that Thomas Lockhart of Seaside Park was arrested on Tuesday and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. Lockhart had been living at the Desert Palm Motel in Seaside Park, and then allegedly moved without registering or notifying the appropriate local law enforcement agencies, according to Billhimer.
