A Lebanon mother and daughter are in custody after the daughter’s boyfriend, Dontay Maurice Hunter, was fatally stabbed inside his Chestnut Street apartment, authorities announced on Thursday, Oct. 9.
Lebanon City Police first responded to a wellbeing check at 833 Chestnut Street around 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. Inside apartment 401, officers found 45-year-old Hunter dead in his bed with a stab wound to his chest.

A 22-year-old man was shot and killed Friday evening, Oct. 3, in a Dutchess County downtown, prompting a heavy police response and hours-long street closure, authorities said.
According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, officers were called to the area of Main and Garden streets around 5:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found the victim — identified as Gabrial Mosca, 22, of Hyde Park — suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mosca was rushed to MidHudson Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A Roosevelt man is accused of sexually abusing a disabled woman during van rides over three years in Jericho, Nassau County police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Steven Harrison, 62, of Powell Street, was employed as a van driver for the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC), according to detectives.
That beginning in March 2022, Harrison repeatedly stopped at the parking lot of the Home Depot at 86 Jericho Turnpike while transporting a 24-year-old woman home and engaged in sexual contact with her, police said.

According to Maryland State Police officials, three people have been arrested after allegedly cutting copper wire from active power poles in Cecil County that caused chaos on three separate occasions for area residents.

A New Jersey man has been convicted of murder in the death of his wife in 2021, authorities said Friday, Sept. 19.
