Feds: Illinois Man Had Sex With CT Girl He Met Through Chess App BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 52-year-old man pleaded guilty in a federal court in Bridgeport this week to traveling from Illinois to Connecticut in order to have sex with a 15-year-old girl he met through a chess app. Arturo Castro of Wilmette, Ill., pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of use of an interstate facility to persuade a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity, according to Deirdre M. Trump Taps Yale Grad To Head FBI NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- President Donald Trump may not have nominated former U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman to head the FBI, but his newly announced pick Christopher Wray has a connection to Connecticut as a graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School. Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday morning that he was going to nominate Wray to replace James Comey, a former Westport resident, as the the Director of the FBI. Woman Who Sent Death Threats To Sandy Hook Parent Sentenced To Jail NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A Florida woman charged with sending threats to the parent of a child killed in the Sandy Hook shooting was sentenced to five months in prison on Wednesday, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Lucy Richards, 57, pleaded guilty to transmitting threats in interstate commerce after she sent threats last January to Len Pozner, whose 6-year-old son Noah was killed in the 2012 shooting. She received five months in prison, followed by five months of house arrest and three years of supervised release, according to the Sun-Sentinel. One Bad Day: Greenwich Man Arrested Twice In One Afternoon GREENWICH, Conn. — A 28-year-old Greenwich man was involved in a pair of disputes that led to him being arrested twice in one day on Monday, according to Greenwich Time. Police told Greenwich Time that Kristopher Chimblo was first involved in a dispute on River Road at around 2 p.m. on Monday. He got into an argument with 61-year-old Brian Tracy which turned into a physical altercation, Greenwich Time reported. Connecticut Lawmakers Approve State's Third Casino HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut lawmakers approved a bill late Tuesday that will allow a third casino to be built in the state. The third casino will be located in East Windsor. The state House of Representatives approved the bill by a vote of 103 to 46, with two members not voting. The bill had previously been approved by the state Senate last month, and will be transmitted to Gov. Dannel Malloy's desk for his signature in the coming days.
