2 Women Charged In Shoplifting Spree At 6 Danbury Mall Stores DANBURY, Conn. — Two Bridgeport women were arrested last week for stealing more than 70 items from six different stores at the Danbury Fair Mall, according to police. Police were called to the mall on a larceny complaint at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26. When they arrived, they met with Mall Security, who had the two women in custody. The women were identified as 31-year-old Shanan Jordan and 29-year-old Dorothy Freelove. Police said that Jordan and Freelove had stolen the items from several stores, including Pac Sun, Victoria's Secret and Forever 21. In all, the items were worth more …

Traffic Fences, Stop Sign Damaged In Darien DARIEN, Conn. — Somebody apparently drove into a fence and stop sign on Kensett Lane in Darien at some point over the weekend. At around 8 a.m. on Monday, a resident of Kensett Lane reported that two traffic fences and a stop sign had been struck and damaged on the Kensett property. Police said the damage was consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The cost to repair the damage to the sign and gates is unknown, and officers are following up with property management. There are no suspects at this time, police said.

Two Charged With Robbing Norwalk Man They Met Through Social Media NORWALK, Conn. — Police have arrested two men accused of assaulting and robbing a Norwalk man who had initially met them online and met up to buy a cell phone, according to the Hour. The man told police that he had contacted someone over social media and arranged to meet them last week to buy the cell phone, according to the Hour. When he met up with them on Novak Street on Thursday afternoon, he was knocked down and his money was taken, the Hour reported. Strong Thunderstorms Could Hit This Afternoon In New Canaan FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Parts of Fairfield County could see some severe thunderstorms on Wednesday evening. There is a slight chance of showers before noon, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Worker Injured When Pinned By Vehicles At Darien Car Wash DARIEN, Conn. — A 32-year-old man suffered leg injuries when he was pinned between two cars at the car wash where he works last week in Darien. Police were called to the Splash Car Wash on Post Road at around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. One employee had driven a customer's vehicle, a black 2006 Infinity, into a wash bay and parked it behind a second customer's vehicle, a blue 2005 Mercedes. Sewage Dumped In River Bank At Darien Cemetery DARIEN, Conn. -- Somebody dumped a large amount of raw sewage by the river bank at the back of St. John's Cemetery in Darien, according to police. Police were called to the cemetery on Tuesday, May 23 on a report of illegal dumping. The cemetery manager told police that sometime during the preceding week, an unknown person had dumped a large amount of raw sewage int he back of the cemetery by the river bak that runs along the west side of the property. Police: Woman Kicked Car, Threatened Other Women At Stamford Strip Club STAMFORD, Conn. — A New York woman who went with a group of girlfriends to a Stamford strip club believing it would be a good place to meet men ended up getting arrested, according to the Stamford Advocate. Early Saturday, Jennifer Salvatore, 38, of Rye was spotted outside the Mystique Gentlemen’s Club on Poplar Street yelling and kicking a Mercedes with three female occupants inside, police told the Advocate. Former Westport Police Chief Charged With DUI WESTPORT, Conn. -- A former chief of the Westport Police Department was arrested on drunken driving charges after an accident last Friday, police said. At about 11 p.m. Friday, Westport Police responded to Compo Road South on a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. The driver, 61-year-old Alfred Fiore, smelled of an alcoholic beverage, according to police reports. Wilton Driver Leaves Tire At Accident Scene, Crashes Car Again WILTON, Conn. -- A Wilton driver trying to leave the scene of an accident where he'd lost his tire got in a second accident before giving up and walking home early Monday morning.
