Darien Residents Targeted By Identity Thieves DARIEN, Conn. -- Two Darien residents reported to police last week that they had fallen victim to identity theft in separate incidents. The first incident was reported May 1. The victim, a 39-year-old Darien woman, told police that she had been notified on April 27 that her Webster Bank account had zero balance, police said. She discovered that two withdrawals had been made from her account on April 26 for $1,200 and $1,000. The withdrawals were to "SQL* Bruton" via the online app "Square Cash," police said. Wilton Woman Charged With Leaving Kids Home Alone WILTON, Conn. -- A Wilton woman was charged with leaving her two kids home alone while she went out Saturday night, according to police. Police said that 39-year-old Kerry Peel was accused of leaving two young children alone while Peel was out with a friend. Her car was stopped by Norwalk Police at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. Peel told police that a neighbor was watching the children, but the neighbor denied it, according to police. Peel was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and released on a $20,000 bond.

New Canaan Residents Help Raise $720K For Maritime Aquarium NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Several New Canaan residents were on hand at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk's "Cirque de la Mer" fundraiser on April 20, which raised more than $720,000 for the aquarium's environmental education programming for students in the tri-state area. Bridgeport Woman Charged With Leaving Kids Alone In Bug-Infested Home BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police charged a woman with leaving her two kids under the age of 10 alone in an apartment that was infested with cockroaches, according to the Connecticut Post. Stamford Police Charge Father-Son Pair With Selling Cocaine STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 60-year-old Stamford man and his 29-year-old son were charged with selling cocaine after police said they sold more than two ounces to undercover officers, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police: Norwalk Transit District Employee Stole $20K Through Identity Theft NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk Transit District employee was charged with stealing more than $20,000 through forgery over the course of about six months, according to police. Police received a complaint in February from the Norwalk Transit District about employee theft, and launched an investigation. Police said that the investigation, led by Det. Man With Knife Arrested After Fight In Stamford Store STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man was charged with cursing at another man and threatening him with a knife over the weekend, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that a man was riding an escalator in Target on Sunday evening when he encountered 27-year-old Damian Cobbs.
