Sex Abuse At Elite Connecticut Prep School Went On For Decades, Report Says A sex abuse scandal spanning nearly half a century has surfaced at an elite Connecticut boarding school. Choate Rosemary Hall, located in Wallingford, said that at least 12 former teachers had sexually molested students dating back to the 1960s, with at least one rape occurring. Choate is the alma mater of the late President John F. Kennedy, as well as first daughter Ivanka Trump and actress Glenn Close, who grew up in Greenwich. Aggressive Raccoon Attacks Elderly Norwalk Resident NORWALK, Conn. — An elderly Norwalk resident was attacked and bitten by an aggressive raccoon Thursday, according to the Hour. The Eastwood Road resident was doing yard work at about 5:40 p.m. when the raccoon attacked, police told the Hour. The resident tried to run but tripped and was under attack until a passing driver stopped their car and hit the raccoon with a car mat, driving it off, the Hour reported. Greenwich Police Search For Car Theft Suspects GREENWICH, Conn. — Five people were arrested in connection with the theft of a car in Greenwich, as well as numerous other cars being entered, according to Greenwich Time. Police were in the Mianus River area searching for more suspects Friday morning, Greenwich Time reported. Lawsuit By Family Of Darien Man Struck And Killed By Train Dismissed DARIEN, Conn. – A lawsuit brought against Metro-North by the family of a man struck and killed by a train in Darien in 2013 has been thrown out, according to the Hour. On the morning of March 4, 2013, 44-year-old Kevin Murphy of Darien was struck and killed by a train at the Noroton Heights train station in Darien. The incident took place just before 6:30 a.m., and there was no video surveillance or witnesses to explain what happened. Bronx Man, 92, Charged In 2004 Greenwich Sexual Assault GREENWICH, Conn. -- A 92-year-old Bronx man was arrested by Greenwich Police Wednesday on sexual assault charges. Francisco Ortiz was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was released on a $35,000 bond, and will appear in court on April 26. The arrest stems from an incident that took place at a Church Street apartment on Feb. 7, 2004 when Ortiz was 79, according to police.

Fire Breaks Out At Earthplace In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Numerous animals were rescued after a fire broke out in the workroom of Animal Hall at Earthplace in Westport Friday morning. Car Fire Causes Wood Pile To Ignite In Brookfield BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- A went up in flames on Johns Road in Brookfield Thursday morning, and caused a nearby wood pile to ignite as well, fire officials said.Both Brookfield fire companies responded to the fire at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
