Westport Police Arrest Norwalk Man Hanging Off Tow Truck WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police arrested a man who they say tried to stop a tow truck driver from moving his disabled vehicle last week. At around 4:35 p.m. on Friday a Westport police officer responded to the area of Wilton Road and Ivy Knoll in reference to a disabled motor vehicle. The officer arrived to find a disabled motor vehicle blocking one lane of travel on Wilton Road, police said. Fairfield County Ranks Among Most Expensive Places To Raise A Family FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A new study has found that the Stamford-Norwalk and Danbury areas of Fairfield County are among the 10 most expensive places to live in the country, according to MarketWatch. Danbury Man Charged With Bringing Loaded Gun To Stranger's House DANBURY, Conn. -- Police arrested a Danbury man after he showed up at a stranger's home with a loaded handgun last week, according to WLAD. Police told WLAD that Victor Omar Fontanez, 26, showed up at a home on Montgomery Street just before midnight on Thursday, looking for somebody. The residents told police that they did not know Fontanez, and he did not tell officers why he was at the home, WLAD reported. Unlocked Cars Stolen, Broken Into In Trumbull TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Three cars that were left unlocked with the keys inside were stolen from driveways in Trumbull in the past week, according to police. A number of other cars also had items stolen from inside.In one instance, police said that thieves broke into an unlocked car and used a garage door opener to get into a home while the residents slept. Redding Police Charge Norwalk Man With Sexual Assault Of A Minor REDDING, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with sexually assaulting a minor in Redding last week, according to the Redding Pilot.Police did not release the name of the 56-year-old Norwalk man because they said doing so would compromise the identity of the victim, the Redding Pilot reported. Gift Cards Donated To Sick Trumbull Teacher Stolen By Janitor TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A janitor at Daniels Farm School in Trumbull was charged with stealing gift cards that a group of students had donated to a sick teacher, according to the Connecticut Post.Police told the Connecticut Post that a group of students had gathered $150 in gift cards and a get well card and placed them in the teacher's mailbox. Police: NY Men Caught Stealing Oil From 2 Danbury Restaurants DANBURY, Conn. — Two Yonkers men were charged with stealing oil from two Danbury restaurants after the owner of one of the restaurants caught them, according to police. On March 2 the restaurateur who had been victimized staked out his restaurant and saw two men stealing his used oil, police said.
