Westport Man Accidentally Shoots Himself While Cleaning Gun NORWALK, Conn. — A Westport man accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun, according to the Hour. Norwalk Police told the Hour that the 46-year-old man was cleaning his late father's .22 caliber handgun Thursday morning when it went off. The man was shot in the left thigh, the Hour reported. The man drove himself to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries, the Hour said. Norwalk Police contacted Westport Police to investigate, according to the Hour.
