Westport Man Accidentally Shoots Himself While Cleaning Gun NORWALK, Conn. — A Westport man accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun, according to the Hour. Norwalk Police told the Hour that the 46-year-old man was cleaning his late father's .22 caliber handgun Thursday morning when it went off. The man was shot in the left thigh, the Hour reported. The man drove himself to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries, the Hour said. Norwalk Police contacted Westport Police to investigate, according to the Hour. Bridgeport Rallies To Help Family Of 23-Year-Old Killed In Rest Area Crash BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The family of a Bridgeport man who was killed in a crash at a I-95 rest area Thursday morning is asking for help with his funeral and burial expenses. Lucky Keophannga was killed two days after his 23rd birthday when his car crashed into the back of a tractor tailer at the I-95 rest area in Fairfield just after 1 a.m. Thursday. Norwalk Drug Dealer Sentenced To 10 Years In Federal Prison NORWALK, Conn. -- A West Haven man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling drugs out of a Norwalk apartment where police found 500 bags of heroin, as well as cocaine and guns. Kenneth Brickhouse, 36, also known as "K.E." was sentenced Thursday in Bridgeport for drug and firearm offenses, Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced. Police: Drug Ring Sold Cocaine Out Of Bridgeport Grocery Stores BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Five people were arrested Wednesday in connection with a drug trafficking ring that was operated out of two grocery stores in Bridgeport, according to state police. Florida Woman Charged With Threatening Sandy Hook Parent Will Plead Guilty NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A Florida woman charged with sending death threats to the parent of a Sandy Hook victim will likely plead guilty to federal charges later this month, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Lucy Richards, 57, had initially plead not guilty to four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. Shelton Zoning Commission Approves Controversial Shelter Ridge Development SHELTON, Conn. -- The Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission approved a controversial proposal for a 121-acre mixed use residential and commercial development on Bridgeport Avenue at its meeting Tuesday night, according to the Shelton Herald.
