Stay Off The Roads: Malloy Urges Caution As Storm Cleanup Continues FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Connecticut has managed to weather Thursday’s snowstorm with relatively few accidents or problems, though people should continue to use caution, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said during an afternoon press briefing. The state’s emergency operations center is active and monitoring the storm. Dannel Malloy released his proposed state budget for the next two years on Wednesday, which dramatically reduces or outright eliminates Education Cost Sharing grants for some of the wealthiest towns in Fairfield County, while maintaining or increasing aid for some of the larger cities. Norwalk Mayor Condemns White Supremacist Fliers Found In Driveways NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling denounced white supremacist fliers that were placed in residents' driveways on Newtown Avenue Monday morning. Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Car In Greenwich ID'd As Elderly Port Chester Man GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Port Chester man in his 80s was struck and killed while crossing the street in Greenwich Monday night, according to police. The man was crossing West Putnam Avenue at the intersection with Western Junior Highway at around 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car and suffered serious injuries, police said.
