Connecticut Lawmakers Approve Deal To Keep Sikorsky In Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. -- Both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly voted in favor of a deal Wednesday that would keep Sikorsky Aircraft at its current Stratford headquarters until at least 2032. The agreement that the state made with Sikorsky owner Lockheed Martin would retain and grow approximately 8,000 direct jobs and see Sikorsky double its spending of $350 million per year among in-state suppliers, according to Gov. Animal Embassy Visits Royle Elementary School In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- The children at Royle Elementary School in Darien enjoyed a visit last week from Animal Embassy's Chris Evers, who introduced them to an amazing and unusual selection of animals.  Some of the children were lucky enough to handle the animals that Evers brought with him, which included a Eurasian Eagle Owl named Tiaga, a pair of chinchillas and a huge tortoise.  Evers spoke to the children about the importance of being kind and respectful around the animals, just as they would be towards one another, and addressed issues of friendship and bullying in his talk

James Reilly, 21, was driving a 1999 Chevy Blazer on Hanson Road the night of Aug. 20 when the vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway, struck a stone wall and slammed into a tree, police said. Car Catches Fire On I-95 North In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport firefighters quickly extinguished a car that caught fire on I-95 northbound Tuesday afternoon. The Westport Fire Department was dispatched at around 1:52 p.m. to a report of a vehicle fire on I-95 north between exits 17 and 18.
