Bridgeport Police Stepping Up Patrols In Wake Of Gun Violence BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police Chief Armando "AJ" Perez will increase patrols in areas prone to gun violence in reaction to a number of violent shootings in the past week.The most notable incident occurred Saturday when an 18-year-old Stamford teen was shot and killed on Wood Terrace. Police Identify Stamford Teen Killed In Bridgeport Shooting BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Police have identified the teen killed in a shooting in Bridgeport Saturday as 18-year-old Shane Slinksky of Stamford, according to the Connecticut Post. Authorities told the Connecticut Post that Slinksky appeared to have been in Bridgeport to buy drugs when he was shot twice in the head on Wood Terrace. This is the sixth homicide in Bridgeport this year. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but have not revealed any suspects or motives, the Connecticut Post reported. Norwalk Walk Bridge Project Could Impact Maritime Aquarium Imax Theater NORWALK, Conn. -- The state is considering taking over the IMAX Theater at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk – and possibly knocking it down –in order to facilitate the replacement of the 120-year-old walk bridge over the Norwalk River, according to the Hour. Police Identify Worker Killed In Westport Construction Accident WESTPORT, Conn. -- The man killed in a construction accident in Westport Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Herbert S. Grant, 69, of Stratford, according to police. The accident took place at around 12:21 p.m. when Grant was working at a construction project at a residence on Country Lane in Westport. Man Killed In Construction Accident In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- A man was killed in a construction accident off Compo Road North in Westport on Tuesday, police said. Police, EMS and firefighters responded to the construction site at 12:21 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, they determined that he was unresponsive as a result of a construction accident, police said.
