At around 2 p.m. Norwalk Police Marine Unit Sergeant Peter LaPak and Marine Unit Officer Richard Delallo were patrolling the area of Green Ledge Lighthouse when they saw a man in the water and a sailboat traveling in circles. Greenwich Pays Tribute To Sept. 11 Victims In Town Ceremonies GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich community members came together to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks 15 years ago in a pair of ceremonies held Sunday One ceremony was held at the memorial outside the Glenville Fire House. The memorial was constructed from steel recovered from the World Trade Center. The second ceremony was held at the glass memorial in Cos Cob Park. Town officials, police and fire departments and residents attended both ceremonies to remember the victims of the attacks, as well as first responders whose lives were lost in the aftermath.

Multiple fire trucks responded to the scene, and the right lane was blocked. Drivers saw delays of up to an hour.
