Norwalk Police Marine Officers Rescue Man Overboard NORWALK, Conn. -- Members of the Norwalk Police Marine Unit saved a boater Saturday who had been hit in the head and fallen overboard. At around 2 p.m. Norwalk Police Marine Unit Sergeant Peter LaPak and Marine Unit Officer Richard Delallo were patrolling the area of Green Ledge Lighthouse when they saw a man in the water and a sailboat traveling in circles. The man had sustained a head injury and was in obvious distress, police said. As the officers approached, they threw the man a life ring, but he was unable to grab it. Norwalk Police Seek Suspect In Attempted Burglary NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police are seeking a suspect who they say tried to break into a home on North Seir Hill Road earlier this month. On Sept. 1 at approximately 2 p.m. an unknown Hispanic male tried to gain entry into the home, police said. He tried various sliding doors before leaving in a silver Honda Civic. Police said the vehicle was missing a front left hubcap and appeared to have a dent in the driver's side door. Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect. Greenwich Pays Tribute To Sept. 11 Victims In Town Ceremonies GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich community members came together to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks 15 years ago in a pair of ceremonies held Sunday One ceremony was held at the memorial outside the Glenville Fire House. The memorial was constructed from steel recovered from the World Trade Center. The second ceremony was held at the glass memorial in Cos Cob Park. Town officials, police and fire departments and residents attended both ceremonies to remember the victims of the attacks, as well as first responders whose lives were lost in the aftermath.

New Fairfield Remembers Victim Of Sept. 11 In Town Ceremony NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Members of the New Fairfield community came together Sunday for a ceremony paying tribute to those lost in the Sept. 11 attacks 15 years ago. The remembrance ceremony was held in the parking lot of the New Fairfield Senior Center and featured town officials, police and fire departments and community members. No Serious Injuries As Fire Destroys Car On Route 8 In Trumbull updated: TRUMBULL, Conn. -- No serious injuries were reported in a vehicle fire that slowed traffic on Route 8 southbound near Exit 7 in Trumbull early Friday evening, state police told the Connecticut Post. Multiple fire trucks responded to the scene, and the right lane was blocked. Drivers saw delays of up to an hour.
