Police Confirm Remains Of Two Humans Found In Weston WESTON, Conn. -- State police confirmed Friday that they have found the remains of two humans on an abandoned property on Norfield Road in Weston. State and local police blocked off the road Thursday afternoon after receiving a report of possible human remains found on the property of 89 Norfield Road. The remains are believed to be connected to the disappearance of Jeannette and Jeffrey Navin of Easton, who were last seen Aug. 4. Weston Celebrates Reopening Of Route 57 Bridge WESTON, Conn. – Weston celebrated the reopening of the bridge on Route 57 that was rebuilt using a new replacement method that the Department of Transportation hopes to use on other projects around the state. Dubbed the “Bridge-in-a-Backpack” technique, the new bridge replacement method is designed accelerate construction and reduce costs, said DOT Commissioner James Redeker. Malloy Calls For Budget Talks As State Faces $120 Million Shortfall FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said that the state is looking at a $120 million deficit in revenues, and is calling on bipartisan budget talks as more cuts will need to be made. Malloy said Monday morning that the Office of Policy and Management is projecting the shortfall in revenues even after the $103 million in budget cuts he ordered in September. “The effects of the downturn on Wall Street and the fact that personal incomes are not rising at the level we have predicted necessitates this action,” Malloy said. Report: Darien Officers Smelled Of Alcohol On Night Of Shooting DARIEN, Conn. -- Two Darien officers charged with discharging their firearms in August gave off the odor of alcohol the night of the incident and initially claimed to have set off fireworks, according to The Darien Times. Darien police Officers James Martin and Daniel Ehret were arrested by state police on Oct. 6 and charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree unlawful discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. Hackensack Bus Driver Killed In Connecticut Crash HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A Hackensack bus driver was killed in an Oct. 7 crash on I-95 southbound in Norwalk, CT, a day before his 32nd birthday. Henry Woolfson, a native of Guayaquil, Ecuador, was behind the wheel when the bus rear-ended a tractor-trailer just north of Exit 14 in the center lane, according to police reports. Pinned inside, Woolfson had to be extricated by Norwalk firefighters. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Bus Driver Dies From Injuries In I-95 Crash In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- The bus driver in a crash on I-95 southbound in Norwalk that sent 18 other people to the hospital on Wednesday died of his injuries, according to state police.
