Police: NYC Man, 65, Made Harassing Phone Calls To Darien Teen Girl DARIEN, Conn. -- A 65-year-old New York man was charged with making harassing phone calls to a 17-year-old Darien girl, police said. Keith Jamie Reimer was charged with two counts of second-degree harassment. He was unable to post $125,000 bond and went to court Wednesday. Darien police received a complaint in October from the female resident, who said she had been receiving ongoing harassing phone calls on her cellphone from a blocked number. Police: Woman Robs Darien Bank At Gunpoint DARIEN, Conn. -- A woman wearing a bright yellow jacket robbed a Chase Bank in Darien at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, police said. A white female walked into the Chase Bank on Noroton Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. and approached an employee, police said. She then displayed a firearm and demanded cash, police said. Bitter Cold To Continue As Fairfield County Temps Hit Record Lows DANBURY, Conn. – Fairfield County has been seeing record-breaking cold temperatures this month, and the frigid weather is likely to continue well into March. The temperature reached 13 degrees below zero in Danbury on Tuesday, the coldest it has been since it hit 16 degrees below on Jan. 11, 1988, according to Gary Lessor, assistant to the director of meteorological studies and the Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. Woodbridge Woman Charged With Burglary At Shoe Repair Shop In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A Woodbridge woman was charged with breaking into a Norwalk shoe repair store in 2012 and taking coins, boots and socks, according to police. Heather Kydon, 31, was charged Monday with third-degree burglary. She was held on $2,500 bond and will appear in court March 5. Messy Fuel Spill After Truck Collision Blamed For Closing I-95 In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- All three lanes of I-95 southbound were closed in Norwalk for hours Tuesday after a box truck collided with a tractor-trailer, causing a messy fuel spill. Two Charged In November Armed Robbery At Gas Station In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- Two men suspected in crimes across the state have been charged in the armed robbery of a Norwalk gas station in November. Anthony Shipman, 31, of Hartford and Jason Vaughn, 30, of Bridgeport were each charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. Vaughn was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm. Each was held on $150,000 bond and appeared in court Monday. Large Floor Washer Stolen From Stop & Shop In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Somebody stole a 1,000-pound floor washer from Stop & Shop in Darien last week, police said. The Tennant auto scrubber floor washer is the kind that needs to be started with a key and driven, police said. A cleaning company working at the Stop & Shop in the Goodwives Shopping Center on Old Kings Highway North reported that the washer was stolen sometime between 7 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15. Man Finds Hand Grenade In Darien Basement DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man brought a hand grenade to the police station after finding it in the basement of a home he was working on, police said.
