Stepfather Left 2-Year-Old Alone In Car, Darien Police Say DARIEN, Conn. -- A Torrington man was arrested Friday after Darien police accused him of leaving a 2-year-old child alone in a car for 30 minutes on a subfreezing day, police said. Ariosto Borja, 37, was charged with leaving a child unsupervised in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 17. Norwalk Men Charged With Stealing Tools From Darien Home Under Construction DARIEN, Conn. -- Two Norwalk men were arrested and charged with breaking into a Darien home under construction and stealing tools, police said. Elvin Ramos, 26, and Wilmer Arias, 39, were each charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. Each was held on $10,000 bond and arraigned in court Monday. Darien police received a complaint Jan. 22 that a home on Waldon Road had been burglarized. Norwalk Filmmaker Brings Vision To Life With Short Film NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk native Alex Morsanutto grew up idolizing the works of directors Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock and Ridley Scott. Now the 23-year-old filmmaker has completed work on a new short film and has his eyes set on the future. Morsanutto wrote, directed, produced and edited the 19-minute short film “Little Lion,” which was shot in Norwalk and Bridgeport last year and released online Monday. 3 Suspected Of Shoplifting Alcohol In Westport Flee To Bridgeport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Three people were arrested after they stole a bottle from a Westport liquor store and led officers on a chase to Bridgeport on Friday, police said. Jamie Corso, 31, of Niantic; Mario Varriale, 43, of Branford; and Richard Smith, 30, of New Haven, were each charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. 3 Hurt As Scaffolding Collapses At Greens Farms Academy In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Three workers were injured when scaffolding collapsed at a construction site at Greens Farms Academy in Westport on Thursday, according to fire officials. The Westport Fire Department responded to the accident at the school on Beachside Avenue, where construction was underway on a new performing arts building.
