Westport Police Make Arrest In Theft Of Wedding Gifts WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Mansfield man has been arrested in connection with the theft of wedding gifts at the Inn at Longshore in Westport during a wedding reception last month, according to police. Frank A. Burnett, 30, was charged with fourth-degree larceny. He posted $2,000 bond and will appear in court Nov. 17. The theft occurred Oct. 11 when the suspect entered the Inn by posing as a wedding guest and proceeded to steal an ornamental bird cage, which contained congratulatory cards with cash and checks for the bride and groom, police said. Man Charged With Trying To Break Into Westport ATM WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was picked up on an arrest warrant in Stamford and charged with trying to twice break into a Westport ATM, police said. Ernesto Alicia, 49, was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an officer. Cranbury Elementary Unveils Anti-Bullying Bench In Honor Of Greenwich Teen NORWALK, Conn. -- Cranbury Elementary School in Norwalk will unveil a new "buddy bench" to remind people about the dangers of bullying. The bench will be unveiled Saturday and is dedicated to the life of Bart Palosz, a Greenwich High School student who took his own life last year at the age of 15. Norwalk Police Make Five Arrests In Fake Check Case NORWALK, Conn. -- A Hartford woman just arrested on charges of cashing counterfeit checks this summer in Norwalk is the fifth person arrested in the case, police said. Ursula Tirado, 26, was arrested Wednesday and charged with fifth-degree larceny and second-degree forgery, as well as two counts of failure to appear in court. Police: Norwalk Man Shoved Delivery Man, Broke Grocery Store Door NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested after police said he caused a disturbance at a grocery store and broke the business's door Wednesday. David Langley, 47, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and criminal mischief. He was held on $500 bond and will appear in court Nov. 14.
