Norwalk Men Arrested On Drug Charges After Raid On Home NORWALK, Conn. -- Two Norwalk men were arrested on drug charges by the Special Services Division of the Norwalk Police Department after a raid at a Van Zant Street home, police said. Ryan Charles, 22, and Ricardo Torres, 20, were each charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession within 1,500 feet of a school. Concussion Expert Praises New Law Aimed At Educating New Canaan Kids NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s Katherine Snedaker is praising a new law Connecticut that requires more concussion education for student athletes. The new law was signed by Gov. Dannel Malloy on May 28 and requires schools to provide concussion education to athletes and parents before students can play sports. It also requires the State Board of Education to develop a concussion education plan and requires local and regional boards of education to compile and report all instances of concussions suffered by students. “It’s definitely a step in the right direction,” Snedaker said of the new law.…

Police: Man Shoves Norwalk Hospital Doctor, Employee NORWALK, Conn. -- A Waterbury man was charged with pushing a doctor and another employee at Norwalk Hospital on Tuesday, June 3, according to police. Danny Palmer, 48, was charged with two counts of assault on emergency medical personnel, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. Homeless Man Charged With Spitting On People At South Norwalk Station NORWALK, Conn. -- A homeless man was arrested on charges of spitting on people at the South Norwalk train station, according to police. Lawrence Luchor, 45, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault. He was held on $2,500 bond and will appear in court on June 10. Police Further Investigate Darien Bookkeeper Charged With Embezzling DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police are further investigating Cynthia Tanner, who was charged Monday with embezzling more than $180,000 from the National Veterans Services Fund and also did volunteer bookkeeping for the Darien Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. Tanner, 52, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree larceny. Tanner served as the bookkeeper for the National Veterans Services Fund since 2008, and is believed to have used more than $830,000 of the organization's funds for her personal use, according to police. Norwalk Officials Praise New Pre-K Initiatives, Hope For More Funding NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk school and elected officials came together Tuesday to celebrate new state initiatives designed to expand access to early childhood education for kids across the city and the state. Darien Man, 49, Charged With Running Over Slow-Down Sign DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man was arrested after his neighbors reported he drove over a slow-down sign near their children, according to police. Darien Teen Charged With Breaking Into House DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien teen was charged with breaking into a house while the residents were out of town, according to police. The 16-year-old male was arrested on May 21 and charged with first-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.
