What's Closed For Labor Day In Darien DARIEN, Conn. – Labor Day weekend is upon us, and Darien’s government buildings will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday. All public schools will be closed for students and teachers, and the school district administration building will also be closed. Darien Town Hall, the Darien Senior Center and the Darien Library will be closed. The YWCA, the Darien Community Association and the Depot will also be closed. Norwalk Duo Charged With Sale Of Crack NORWALK, Conn. – Police seized $3,700 in cash and 43 rocks of crack cocaine while arresting two Norwalk residents on drug charges Friday morning. The arrests followed a month-long investigation. Police received a search and seizure warrant for an apartment at 16 School St. based on work by undercover officers as well as surveillance and information from neighbors. Police said that when searching the apartment they found the cash, the 42 crack rocks valued at $20 each and one crack rock valued at $100. Romney Continues To Raise More Funds In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney continues to receive more contributions for his campaign from Greenwich residents than his Democratic opponent. But President Barack Obama is polling higher among likely voters throughout the state. As of the end of July, Romney had received 1,285 donations to his campaign from Greenwich residents, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Those contributions total $1,897,789. The checkpoint will be set up on Tokeneke Road in the area of the 120 block near Silver Lakes Drive. It is expected to begin at about 10 p.m. and continue into the early hours of Saturday.
