As a result, the nonprofit’s food pantry is running low, and it is reaching out for donations. “We are in dire need,” said Janet King, director of volunteers. Darien Police: Subway Employee Spied On Bathroom DARIEN, Conn. – Darien police arrested a Subway employee Thursday who allegedly placed a spy camera in a unisex bathroom at the restaurant. During the investigation, the suspect, Marco Dias, 21, of Bridgeport was also discovered to be an illegal immigrant, police said. Darien Weighs Options To Cover Dump's Money Woes DARIEN, Conn. – Darien is considering its options on offsetting some of the costs of the Darien transfer station. As use of the dump has declined, the town has subsidized its costs out of the general fund.  The revenue generated by the transfer station is much lower than cost of operating it, Public Works Director Bob Steeger said. The 2,334 enrolled elementary students is 75 more than the district projected it would have.
