Police Identify Darien Drowning Victim DARIEN, Conn. – Darien Police have identified the woman who drowned in her backyard pool Wednesday morning as Amelia McCann, 45, of Mansfield Place. McCann was found submerged in the pool around 10 a.m. by her husband, police said. Emergency crews attempted to revive her with CPR and she was later transported to Stamford Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Darien Woman Drowns In Pool DARIEN, Conn. — A Darien woman died Wednesday morning in what appeared to be an accidental drowning, according to Darien police. Police have confirmed that the victim was Amelia McCann, 45, of Mansfield Place. Police received a 911 call at 10 a.m. from a home at 2 Mansfield Place saying that a woman had been found submerged in the backyard pool by her husband. Emergency crews responded and performed CPR. Darien Kids To Celebrate Fourth With Annual Parade DARIEN, Conn. – The streets of Darien will once again be filled Wednesday with patriotic kids riding bikes, strollers, wagon, in-line skates and other non-motorized transports as they celebrate the Fourth of July with the annual YWCA Push-n-Pull Parade. More than 3,000 people usually attend the event, which is now in its eighth year.
