Annie is a proud alumna of Purdue University, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Anthropology. She began her journalism career in front of a camera, reporting news across the Midwest.

Annie’s passion for journalism began back in high school during her time in Youth In Government, where she served as as reporter and press editor for several years. She is proud to have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. From breaking news to archery on horseback to hanging out with kangaroos, Annie is grateful to share the stories and events of those around her.

In her free time, Annie enjoys showing her horses and watching sports. The only granddaughter of Indiana Pacer’s founder Chuck DeVoe and stepdaughter of Purdue Men’s Basketball Announcer and former player Ralph Taylor, Annie’s love for Indiana basketball runs deep.

A US history buff, Annie is proud to provide news to the Capitol region.

Double Murder: Baltimore Man Arrested In Major Homicide Case A Baltimore man has been arrested for double homicide that occurred back in April, officials say. Lamarr Candia, 27, allegedly shot and killed Robert Carter, 33, and Kennard Wilds, 27, at a gas station on the 3300 block of Garrison Boulevard shortly before 9 p.m., April 29, Baltimore Police say. Candia was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder after being found on the 4000 block of Wabash Avenue, Friday, June 2.

Silver Spring Contractor Dies In ATV Crash The victim of a fatal ATV crash in Silver Spring has been identified as a well-liked contractor. Paul Benedict Herbert, 52, was found with serious injuries and pronounced dead on the scene after the single vehicle collision on the 1100 block of Briggs Chaney Road shortly after 5 pm., Friday, June 3, Montgomery County Police say. Juvenile Uses Sandwich Bag To Torch Montgomery County Playground: Police A juvenile was arrested on arson-related charges after setting fire to a Poolesville playground, officials say. The suspect had set a paper bag and sandwich container on fire underneath playground equipment which ignited the play area at the park on Fisher Avenue around 5 p.m., June 5, says the Montgomery County Fire Department. The total cost of damage is over $75,000. The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Monkeypox Case Confirmed In DC The first suspected case of Monkeypox has been confirmed in Washington DC, officials say. Samples of the virus have been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm a Monkeypox diagnosis after a patient tested positive for an Orthopox virus on Saturday, June 4 after recent travel to Europe, according to the DC Public Health Lab. The patient is currently isolating and contact tracing. The public is not believed to be at risk, as no additional cases have been identified in the area. Former Bethesda Teacher, Rowing Coach Admits Sexually Abusing Students A former Bethesda teacher and girls' rowing coach has confessed to sexually abusing two teen girls — one of whom was a student, officials say. Kirkland Shipley, 48, pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse of a secondary education student and possession of a sexual performance by a minor on Friday, June 3, according to the Department of Justice. Temple Hills Man Identified As Victim In Prince George's County Murder A Temple Hills man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Prince George's County, authorities say. Bernard Lewis Jr., 27, was found with gunshot wounds around 11:30 a.m. on the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway, Thursday, June 2, according to Prince George's County Police. Man Killed In Late Night Baltimore Shooting A young man was killed after a late night shooting in Baltimore, authorities say. The 29-year-old victim was found with gunshot wounds to his torso around 9:48 p.m. on the 4200 block of St. Georges Street, Thursday, June 2, according to Baltimore Police. Glen Burnie Man Dies Of Mysterious Injuries After Crash A Glen Burnie man has died from mysterious injuries found after a multiple vehicle crash in Millersville, authorities say.
