Lakeland High Softball Players Holding Clinic For Girls In Ringwood RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Lakeland High School softball players will be holding “Softball Sunday,” a softball tutorial for Ringwood girls in grades one through eight on Sunday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Lakeland High School gym. The high school players will show their younger counterparts how to hit, throw and catch at the clinic. Prizes will also be available. Girls of all skill levels are welcome. Oradell Fire Department Receives New Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus ORADELL, N.J. -- Oradell firefighters recently received 29 self-contained breathing apparatuses acquired through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters federal grant program. The grant, which was supplemented with capital funding, enabled the fire department to purchase 29 of the devices at a cost of approximately $5,000 apiece. The new equipment, which helps firefighters breathe and operate under hazardous conditions, will replace existing units that are over 20 years old. For more information, click here.

Saddle Brook Firefighter Promoted In Passaic SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Saddle Brook firefighter John Tuohy was recently promoted to lieutenant in the Passaic Fire Department, alongside Christopher Di Bella and John Hayowyk, who were promoted to fire battalion chief and captain, respectively. Passaic Mayor Alex D. Blanco said he was proud to see the promotion of three "great gentlemen." In addition to his work in Pasaic, Tuohy also serves as a volunteer with the Saddle Brook Fire Department.

Once the job is completed, the museum’s available exhibit and program space will reach a total of 6,000 square feet. "When we reopen in February, we will stay open as a year-round destination,” Museum President Corinne Zola said. “Thanks to all of you for believing in this project." Gathering donations of toiletries, winter socks and books, participants created care packages for families of children in Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.
