University Of Bridgeport Choral Director Named Finalist For American Prize
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Frank Martignetti, choral director and a music professor at the University of Bridgeport, has been named a finalist for The American Prize in the choral conducting division for his work with the Mystic River Chorale, an auditioned community choir he’s led as artistic director since 2008. Westport Library Hosting Lecture On Creating Online Marketing Campaigns
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Marketing expert Scott Lipow will discuss ways to develop an online marketing campaign on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Westport Library’s McManus Room. Clifton Starts Clothing Recycling Program
CLIFTON, N.J. -- The city of Clifton has started a clothing recycling program. Used clothing will be collected in blue-green metal boxes Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The boxes can be found at city hall, 900 Clifton Ave. The clothing is reusable and should not be thrown in with solid waste, the city website states.

Westport Boy Scouts Holding Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser
WESTPORT, Conn. -- As a community service for Westport families, Boy Scout Troop 39 will hold its sixth annual Christmas tree pickup on Saturday, Jan. 9. Once picked up, the trees will be recycled as mulch. Suggested donation for the service is $20 per tree. Those interested can sign up for the service online. Participants can leave their trees at the end of their driveways by 6:30 a.m. the day of the pick-up. Donations can be made in cash or by check made out to Boy Scout Troop 39. Aspetuck Land Trust Purchases Building Lot Near Southport Beach
