Wanaque Students Brighten Holidays For Children At Pediatric Center
WANAQUE, N.J. -- Middle school students from Haskell and Wanaque schools recently spread some holiday cheer at the Wanaque Center for Pediatrics. With a load of presents, the students, members of the National Junior Honor Society, visited with medically fragile children at the facility. The students paid for the gifts themselves, with money they raised through popcorn and bagel sales.

Women Look To The Future At Closter High Tea Event
CLOSTER, N.J. -- LadyDrinks will be holding a high tea in Closter on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. The event is also a “manifest party,” an effort to bring participants together to discuss the lives they envision for themselves two years from now. Adapted from Celina Lee, founder of the organization Give One Dream, such events provide the opportunity for those in attendance to consider exactly what each of them wants in order to bring it about. Lewisboro Library Hosts Pop Art Workshop
SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Library is holding its “Pop Culture POP Art” workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 4 p.m. The event, for students in grades six and up, will give participants the chance to make a personalized three-dimensional work of art using canvas, recycled comic books and magazines, wood letters and art supplies. SoNo Branch Library Hosting Daytime New Year's Eve Celebration
NORWALK, Conn. -- The SoNo Branch Library, 10 Washington St., will be hosting a daytime New Year’s celebration. “Noon Year’s Eve” will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The all-ages event will feature dancing, live entertainment from musical duo Jay and Ray and a “countdown” to the stroke of noon. STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Volunteer Center of the United Way of Western Connecticut is seeking applications from seniors attending a Stamford high school for its annual Roberta K. Eichler Heart of Gold Scholarship. The scholarship awards $5,000 to support the continuing education of an outstanding local student volunteer. DANBURY, Conn. -- Lambert Shell has left the Danbury Library after serving two years as its director. He is now the director of the Roosevelt Library in Roosevelt, N.Y. Katie Ventura, who has served as assistant director since November 2013, has become the interim director.

West Milford Shelter Seeks Home For Longest-Tenured Cat
WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- The West Milford Animal Shelter is seeking a home for Kensi, its longest-tenured cat. Kensi has been with the shelter for 10 months and is often viewed as the "office cat," the shelter noted on a Facebook post. Fairfield's Holiday Shop & Stroll Concludes With Raffle
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The town’s third annual Holiday Shop & Stroll concluded with a raffle held on Friday, Dec. 11. The top prize was a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Fairfield-based relief organization Save the Children.
