Wilton Police Stepping Up Seat Belt Enforcement WILTON, Conn. -- With the 2015 Thanksgiving Day holiday fast approaching, the Wilton Police Department has made it clear it intends to promote safe driving. Law enforcement officers are out on Connecticut roads enforcing the state occupant protection laws, the department reports. Citations will be issued to those who don’t wear seat belts.

Next Wanaque School Discussion Focuses On Parcc WANAQUE, N.J. -- The Wanaque School District has announced the next Parent Academy event, which will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 in the Haskell School gymnasium. The meeting, entitled “PARCC Testing – Interpreting Your Child’s Score,” will focus on the current state standardized testing system. PARCC, an acronym for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, is now in its second year.

Fort Lee GWB Access Road Closed Friday Night Into Saturday FORT LEE, N.J. -- Heads up, drivers traveling near the George Washington Bridge on Friday night, Nov. 19. Beginning at 10 p.m. and lasting until 10 a.m. Saturday, access will be blocked to the upper-level George Washington Bridge tolls from Bruce Reynolds Boulevard and Park Avenue because of a milling and paving project. Park Avenue will be closed to all vehicles first, beginning at 7 p.m., officials said. Fairfield Republicans Hold Annual Food Drive Saturday FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Republican Town Committee will hold its 9th Annual Food Drive this Saturday at the Sherman Green on the corner of Post and Reef Roads. Passaic Schools Getting A Makeover PASSAIC, N.J. -- Plenty of renovations and improvements are headed to local schools over the coming months, according to the Passaic Board of Education. SADD Spreads Positive Messages On Red Ribbon Day At Darien High School DARIEN, Conn. -- Students Against Destructive Decisions recently commemorated Red Ribbon Day at Darien High School. Promoting their message of healthy living, SADD members spread the word about the dangers associated with tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
