Harlem Wizards Help River Vale PTA With Fundraising Event In Hillsdale
HILLSDALE, N.J. -- The Harlem Wizards are coming to Hillsdale for a fund-raiser for the River Vale PTA. Oakland Church Prepares Early Thanksgiving Feast
OAKLAND, N.J. -- St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will celebrate a parish Thanksgiving on Sunday, Nov. 22, after the 10 a.m. service. Turkeys will be provided and prepared by the church's rector, the Rev. Kathryn King. Side dishes will be provided by parishioners. Gluten free and vegetarian options will be available, as well.

Carlstadt Church Prepares For Advent With Community Breakfast
CARLSTADT, N.J. -- The Men's Club of the First Prebyterian Church of Carlstadt will host a breakfast Sunday, Nov. 22. The menu includes eggs, french toast, pancakes, sausage and bacon, along with orange juice, coffee, tea and milk. John Jay High School Girls Cross Country Team Wins State Title
CENTRAL VELLEY, N.Y. -- The girls’ cross country team from John Jay High School in Cross River continued its winning season by earning the Class B New York State Championship on Nov. 14. The team, coached by Tom Nohilly, Paul Saloom and Kerri Kuntz, captured the title at Monroe-Woodbury High School. In the boys’ division, Eion Nohilly earned a fourth-place individual finish.

Jenkins Says County Budget Proposal Risks Safety of Yonkers Residents
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- After hearing testimony from the Westchester County Public Safety Department, County Legislator Ken Jenkins (D-Yonkers) charged that the county budget proposal risks the safety of Yonkers residents. The current proposal cuts three positions and reduces funding for Westchester’s public safety by about $1 million. It's 'Turkey Time' At Teatown In Advance Of Holiday
OSSINING, N.Y. -- Teatown Lake Reservation is providing the opportunity to discover a little more about the stars of Thanksgiving dinner, before their big day. Eastchester Resident Charged With Driving With A Suspended License
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 46-year-old man from Eastchester with the unlicenced operation of a vehicle, officials report. A patrol officer allegedly observed a gold jeep travel through a steady red light at the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway North exit ramp and Route 6 on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 10:40 a.m., police report. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as James J. Romeo Jr., according to police. Yonkers Woman Charged With Stealing Cologne From Sears
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 28-year-old Yonkers resident has been charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, according to Yorktown police. On Friday at 7:14 p.m., police received a call from Sears security, reporting a shoplifter in custody, according to officials. An officer was dispatched to the scene; following an investigation, a woman identified as Andrea S. Michael Raj was arrested, according to police. Partner To Identify Troubled Students
DANBURY, Conn. -- Western Connecticut State University and the Brookfield School District are working together to educate school staff on how to identify students who might need emotional or mental health support while there is still time to help them. 'Zombie Bike Ride' Hits The Road Around Greenwich Point For Halloween
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Instead of just trick-or-treating, some Greenwich residents also put the pedal to the metal at the first Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center Zombie Bike Ride on Oct. 31. Led by OGRCC bicycling coach Claire Zecher, more than 25 kids and adults met at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center for a 7.5-mile ride through Old Greenwich, around Greenwich Point and back again, all in celebration of Halloween.
