Carlucci Hosting Veterans Appreciation Breakfast In Nyack NYACK, N.Y. -- State Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) will host his annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast from 9-11 a.m. Sunday at the Nyack Seaport, 21 Burd St. The event, which is open to veterans and their families from throughout the lower Hudson Valley, will include a performance from the Suffern High School Chamber Orchestra. There will also be a surprise gift presentation to 102-year-old World War II Army Veteran Frank Morea, a member of Carlucci’s Veteran Advisory Council, who was inducted into the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame in May.

Monetti was born in the Bronx, served in Germany in the early 1950s and worked as an executive at IBM from 1956-1988. He moved to Somers in 1970. Monetti is survived by his wife, Ada; his children, Steven, Dolores and Richard; and his granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha Gisonni. Man, 22, Charged With DWI In LaGrange LAGRANGE, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested a man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated on Oct. 28, officials report. Sean M. Twohig, 22, of East Fishkill  was stopped on State Route 55 for speeding, and an investigation revealed that he was intoxicated, according to state police. Twohig provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of LaGrange Court on November 10, state police report.

New Commuter Parking Lot Opens At North White Plains Train Station NORTH WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Commuters who use the North White Plains Metro-North Railroad station now have an additional parking facility. A new commuter parking garage, located at the corner of Bond Street and Haarlem Avenue, is now open.
