Charlie Monetti, 82, Former IBM Executive, Baseball Coach
SOMERS, N.Y. -- Charlie Monetti, a longtime Somers resident, died last week at the age of 82.
Monetti was born in the Bronx, served in Germany in the early 1950s and worked as an executive at IBM from 1956-1988.
He moved to Somers in 1970.
Monetti is survived by his wife, Ada; his children, Steven, Dolores and Richard; and his granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha Gisonni.
Monetti is best remembered for his playful love of life and commitment to friends and family - especially in how each child who passed through his influence was made to feel special in a manner that was unique to each.…
Stamford Man Facing Additional Charges In Wave Of Darien Car Burglaries
DARIEN, Conn. -- DARIEN, Conn. -- A Stamford man facing multiple charges for a series of car burglaries in August has now been arrested for additional crimes, according to Darien police.On Aug. 19, Joel Mackinnon, 48, was arrested by Darien officers after it was determined he burglarized numerous vehicles in the Noroton Heights section of town, Darien police said.
During that investigation, it was determined he also was responsible for committing six additional car burglaries Aug. 13, officials said.

Ossining Resident Charged In Yorktown With Stealing Money From Bank Account
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A man from Ossining was charged with identity theft and two counts of grand larceny on Oct. 29, according to Yorktown police.On Oct. 21, a representative of the Wells Fargo Bank on East Main Street in Shrub Oak reported the theft of funds from a customer's account, Yorktown police report.
Following an investigation by Yorktown police, it was alleged that Jamile O. Dixon, an employee of the bank, used the identity of an account holder to steal $16,700 from the customer's savings account between July 31and Aug. 31, officials report.
