Wilton's Weir Farm Showing Visitors New View Of National Park
WILTON, Conn. -- Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton is launching a pilot system that will help show visitors around the park throughout the year. Beginning Thursday, Oct. 29, visitors will be able to take self-guided tours with the aid of the new “view poles,” a system created by a team of designers from the Rhode Island School of Design. “Painters and artists rave about the light and color in the park as it reflects off stone walls and the tree cover," said Weir Farm National Historic Site superintendent Linda Cook. SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- Pequot Library’s Tween Book Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4-5 p.m. to discuss the next book in the Sherlock, Lupin & Me series, The Soprano's Last Song. Rockland County Executive Ed Day Unveils $723 Million Budget Proposal
NEW CITY, NY -- Rockland County Executive Ed Day has released a proposed $723 million budget for 2016 that he says will save money, pay down debt and continue to deliver essential services. "This is a responsible fiscal plan that begins the historic redesign of county operations," said Day. "Our goal is to create an affordable government. We've made the hard choices to set our county on a path to prosperity."
