Police ID Stamford Woman Killed Crossing Street; Officers Looking For Witnesses A 54-year-old Stamford woman has died after being struck by a car while crossing High Ridge Road, and police are asking for witnesses to come forward. Nelly Ruiz was crossing the 900 block of High Ridge Road in Stamford early Sunday, Nov. 9, when a 2016 Nissan Altima hit her, officials said.
