CT Man Guilty Of Coventry Sexual Assault While On Probation, Jury Finds A 43-year-old Connecticut man was convicted this week of sexually abusing a woman in 2020, authorities announced.  Deric Clark, of Waterbury, was found guilty by a jury of first-degree sexual assault on Friday, Oct. 3, of an attack at a home in Coventry, the Office of State's Attorney said. Clark was out on probation for public indecency and breach of peace at the time of the Jan. 17, 2020, attack.  Prosecutors had DNA evidence and witness testimony linking Clark to the assault, authorities said.  A judge will sentence him on Dec. 5. He will remain in custody until that time…

Officers responded to 57 Southview St. in Waterbury around 11:42 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, The man had been working on the roof when he fell from the three-story structure, according to police. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died of his wounds. Police have not released the man’s identity.

Adams Hometown Market will close its Shelton location on Oct. 10, a company spokesperson confirmed this week.  A spokesperson for Bozzuto's Inc., the Cheshire-based distributor that owns the Adams chain, did not disclose the reason for the closure.  The Leavenworth Road store will operate under its normal hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. until the closure.  Bozzuto's Inc. has not announced plans for the space once the store shuts its doors.

Fentanyl Pill Found Outside Torrington Elementary School Parents in Southington are on alert after a broken pill capsule containing fentanyl was found outside Urbin T. Kelley Elementary School, authorities said.  The capsule was spotted on the sidewalk by a staff member on Wednesday, Oct.1 Police tested the substance and confirmed it contained fentanyl, a powerful opioid that can be deadly even in tiny amounts.
