Noe Takes On Darien's Issues DARIEN, Conn. – The following position piece on Darien social issues was submitted by Chris Noe, Ultra Conservative candidate for first selectman. Leash Law I voted against the Leash Law in the RTM. I felt it was more public nuisance than public safety. Unfortunately, the new leash law may pave the way for yet another $50,000 cop to be added to the police force. The "protection" offered from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday minus two weeks sick, minus two weeks vacation, minus paid holidays and personal days. The rare event the cop is "on duty" he hassles dog owners by writing $50 tic…

Letter: Senate Candidate Endorses Stevenson DARIEN, Conn. – The following letter was written by U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon. This is a critical time for our communities as we consider who will be providing leadership in our local government. And Jayme Stevenson is just that – a leader. As a selectman, a business executive and as a parent, she has proven time and again that she has the skills necessary to lead Darien. Jayme is a true public servant who will carefully listen to all sides with an open mind, build a consensus and make the best decisions for Darien's future. She believes in common sense solutions, open communicati…

I am writing to express my support for the campaign of John Lundeen, David Bayne, and Vickie Riccardo and to encourage Darien voters to set aside party affiliations and vote for the best team for the job on Nov. 8. I firmly believe that the Darien Working Together team has the right experience, perspective and determination to continue to make our town a pleasant, safe and affordable place to live and work. Darien Candidates Sound Off on Shuffle Vote DARIEN, Conn. – The shuffle project has been the biggest issue by far in this year's Board of Selectmen race. As expected, Tuesday night's approval of the project pleased the Republican team while leaving the Democratic team disappointed. Republican first selectman candidate Jayme Stevenson said the intense scrutiny made for a thoughtful and detailed debate about the project, and the result is a reflection of the public will. Noe Takes On Darien Economic Issues DARIEN, Conn. – The following position piece on Darien's spending and finances was submitted by first selectman candidate Chris Noe. Economy Connecticut is in trouble, and so are we. I recently spoke with a friend who is in such dire straights suicide is an option. Spending The runaway spending by the current Board of Selectmen is unjustified. They say with these current low interest rates we must act now. This is incorrect. We would only see interest rates come up to control inflation. We won't have inflation until unemployment goes back to normal, 5 percent for Connecticut. Years ago I …
