Athletes From The Harvey School Earn New England Honors KATONAH, N.H. -- Jake Cohn of Pound Ridge, a senior at The Harvey School in Katonah, has been selected to play in this weekend’s 26th Annual Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) All-Star Game at Westminster School in Simsbury, Conn. Aspetuck Land Trust Art Exhibit Opens Friday In Weston FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Aspetuck Land Trust will host an Art Benefit at the Weston Public Library beginning Friday, Nov. 8, and running through Nov. 30. Reed Expo Wins Fall Ball Title In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- Reed Expo won a doubleheader against Stew Leonard’s to capture the Norwalk Fall Ball Championship in the 9- to 11-year-old division. After losing its first playoff game, Reed went on a six-game winning streak to win the championship. In the championship doubleheader, Reed won 8-5 and 7-6 in eight innings. Peter Meyerson’s two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth sent the last game into extra innings, and Reed won in the eighth. Norwalk 5th Grade Football Team Wins 2nd Straight League Title NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Packers fifth grade football won its second straight Colonial Football championship Sunday with a 13-7 victory over Newtown. Norwalk opened the scoring on a 10-yard run by quarterback A.J. Robinson. Dean Tsirinedes ran in for the extra point to give Norwalk a 7-0 lead. Aspetuck Valley Wildcats Cheerleaders Grab State Title WESTON, REDDING AND EASTON, Conn. – The Aspetuck Wildcats Division 10 cheerleading team won the American Youth Football conference state championship last weekend in Hartford. The girls, ages 8, 9 and 10, will compete in the New England Regionals later this month. Democrat Julia Pemberton Wins Tight Race For Redding First Selectman REDDING, Conn. – Redding voters elected Democrat Julia Pemberton as the town’s new first selectman in a tight race Tuesday against Republican Chris Hocker. Pemberton won with 52 percent of the vote. She collected 1,393 votes, compared with 1,295 for Hocker. Democrat Leon Karvelis won the race for selectman over Republican Michael Thompson.
