Glenna Claire Bivano, 84, Music Teacher In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- Glenna Claire Biviano of Ossining, a life-long educator in music, English, and the performing arts, died July 4. She was 79. Glenna was born on Jan. 28, 1934 in Indiana to Clarence Martin and Naomi Norris. She is survived by her son David, daughter Melissa, sister Gloria Stern, and granddaughter Naomi. After finishing high school, Glenna went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where she received her first bachelor’s degree in 1952. Blind Triathlete From Greenwich Aims To Finish New York Race GREENWICH, Conn. – With her sight deteriorating and her weight escalating late last year, Greenwich’s Amy Dixon faced a mountain of frustration. But a change in medication to help a thyroid condition and chance meeting with a triathlon coach put her back on a healthy path. Dixon, who has less than 1 percent vision, will race Sunday in the New York City Triathlon. She competed in her first triathlon, a sprint distance event, last month in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. Norwalk 10-Year-Old All-Stars Reach District Final NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk 10-year-old All-Star baseball team reached the District 1 championship game Tuesday night with a 5-1 victory over Darien National. Norwalk will meet Wilton for the title Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Springdale in Stamford. Korey Morton scattered three hits in 3 2/3 innings to earn the win. Real Estate Experts Encouraged By Latest Hudson Gateway Report WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Monday’s second quarter residential sales report from the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors indicates a sustained recovery is underway in Westchester and other counties targeted in the report, according to several real estate experts. 2 Wilton Running Club Girls Qualify For National Meet WILTON, Conn. – Two young runners from the Wilton Running Club punched their tickets to the Junior Olympic national championships later this month with strong performances at the Regional championships last weekend in New York. Angela Saidman qualified in two events, winning the 800 meters and taking second in the 1,500 meters in the 11-12-year-old age group. Diving Club On The Move Following Norwalk Y Closing NORWALK, Conn. – The closure of the Norwalk YMCA in December has forced a popular diving team to move its training program to a school in New Milford. Next Generation Diving, which also practices at Yale University in New Haven, will also train at Canterbury School.
