Norwalk's Eric Opdyke Drops Hammer For Boston Marathon NORWALK, Conn. – As Norwalk's Eric Opdyke runs 26.2 miles in the Boston Marathon on Monday, he will be a long way from his days of competing in track and field in high school and college. Opdyke was the nation’s top-ranked hammer thrower coming out of high school in Barrington, R.I., and had a solid career at Syracuse. Wilton Wahoo Boys Swim To YMCA National Title WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton Wahoos boys swim team won the National YMCA Short Course swimming championship last weekend in Greensboro, N.C. The Wahoos finished with 402.5 points to lead the 55-team field. Wilton’s girls finished eighth out of 47 teams. In combined scoring, the Wahoos finished fourth.
