New Canaan's Schmid Breaks Out For Babson Softball NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Lindsey Schmid had the biggest day of her college softball career Sunday for Babson College. Schmid tripled, ripped three hits and scored two runs for Babson in a 2-1 win over MIT. In the second game, Schmid had a hit and two RBIs in a 4-2 setback. Schmid is hitting .404, second on the team, and has cracked the starting lineup. She has started 18 games for Babson (20-9), which saw its nine-game win streak snapped in the loss on Sunday.

Norwalk Girls Lacrosse Team Wins Brookfield Tournament NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk 8th-grade Blue girls lacrosse team won five games to capture the Ice Breakers Lacrosse Festival Saturday in Brookfield. Norwalk beat Milford in the final, 9-3. En route to the final, Norwalk topped New Milford, 7-2; Relax 7/8 B, 17-3; Cheshire, 14-3; and New Canaan, 5-3. Kaitlin Uralowich, Olivia Prescott, Isabelle Vineyard, Annie Nields, Suzanne Goodnow and Lily L'Archevesque led Norwalk’s offense.
