Team In Training Seeks Norwalk Marathon Runners FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Runners who did not get into the New York City Marathon still have an opportunity to run the race with Team In Training to support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Wilton-based  group has a few spots available in its Team In Training program for the marathon, which is scheduled for Nov. 4. Runners can also participate in a training program with coaches and other Team In Training runners. Kids Swim, Ride and Run In Norwalk Race NORWALK, Conn. – More than 200 children ages 4-14 competed Saturday in the Mini Mossman Kids Triathlon at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. The races were divided into age groups for children ages 4-6, 7-10 and 11-14. The children raced different distances according to their age groups. Thomas Coughlin of Riverside won the boys 4-6 age group, and Sage Ruttenberg won the girls 4-6 age group. Norwalk, Stamford Triathletes Pace Norwalk Field NORWALK, Conn. – A pair of former champions returned to the top step of the podium at Sunday’s Mossman Sprint Triathlon at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. Rowayton’s Gus Ellison and Stamford’s Megan Kelly took home the men’s and women’s titles in Sunday’s race, which included a half-mile swim, a 12.5-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. Stamford American Little League Wins $5K Grant STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford American Little League has been chosen as the winner of a $5,000 SNY Play Ball Initiative Grant. It was picked largely because of its involvement in the league's Challenger Division, which includes children with mental and physical disabilities. Fairfield Softball Repeats As State Champions FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s softball team won its second straight state championship Sunday with a 7-6 extra-inning win over Mystic.
