Easton Triathlete Sets Record With Win In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. – Easton’s Chris Thomas made his first race in the KIC It Triathlon in Stamford a record-setting one, even with a slight detour. Thomas finished Sunday’s race in 1:56:07, erasing the old mark of 1:59:52 set by Tim Snow in 2008. Thomas ran about two-tenths of a mile farther than he was supposed to on his detour. His time was adjusted to reflect the detour. Thomas still won comfortably, as Garen Riedel of New York took second in 2:08:25. Westport Softball Falls To Fairfield In Districts WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport’s softball team fell to 1-3 in the District 2 Little League tournament Friday with a 17-3 loss to Fairfield. The game was the final contest in pool play for Westport, which beat Stratford, 15-5, on Thursday for its lone tournament victory. Lilly Toefl had an RBI single for Westport, and Kat Vartuli slashed a double. Morgan McWhorter also had a double and Vartuli scored two runs. Toefl had Westport's only other hit.
