The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Mead Park in New Canaan. Norwalk is 3-0 in the tournament, including wins over Bridgeport, 10-0; Stratford, 7-4, and New Canaan, 10-9. The workers at the Cos Cob children’s service agency will compete in the KIC It Triathlon beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Cummings Beach in Stamford. Stamford Woman Succeeds With Simple Running Plan STAMFORD, Conn. – Caitlin Stote’s running strategy is elegant for its simplicity. The 20-year-old Stamford woman is also quite good at it. Stote, a rising senior at Fairfield University, was second in her age group and the seventh women overall in Sunday’s Fairfield Half Marathon. She finished in 1:25:43 and had a net time of 1:25:21. Norwalk Youth Football Registering Flag Players NORWALK, Conn. – Registration for the flag football program in the Norwalk Junior Football League is now open. The league is also registering players for its tackle football program, as well as cheerleaders. Flag football is $75, and players receive a free jersey. The season is scheduled to begin on Sept. 8. Norwalk Crews Earn Five Golds at First Summer Regatta NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk River Rowing Association followed up a strong showing at the U.S. Youth Nationals by winning five gold medals Sunday at its first summer event, the Festival Regatta in Lowell, Mass. Hoffman Wins Women's Golf Tournament In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. – Karen Hoffman defeated Alison Tane, 2-and-1, to win the George Buck Tournament in Westport conducted by the Longshore Women’s Golf Association. The event is the first major of the season for the women’s golf group. Hoffman, who has been a member of the association for four years, edged the two-time defending champion to wrap up the three-week tournament. The tournament is named after the course’s longtime teaching professional, who served Longshore from 1962 until his death in 1991.

Stamford Baseball Team Begins Little League Journey FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – North Stamford Little League will attempt to win its fourth straight District 1 championship when the tournament begins Tuesday.
