Young Swimmers Compete in Norwalk Meet NORWALK, Conn. – Swimmers from the Zeus Swim team competed last weekend at the Marie Corridon Mortell Invitational at Norwalk High School. The meet for swimmers ages 10-and-under honored Mortell, who won a gold medal in the Summer Olympics in 1948. The Norwalk native was a member of the freestyle relay team that won Olympic gold. Swimmers from Greenwich, Stamford and Darien were also among the competitors.

Children's Running Club Coming to New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A newly formed running club for children ages 9-14 will begin workouts in New Canaan in March. The New Canaan Running Club will be under the direction of New Canaan girls track assistant coach Allison Fallon. The team will practice three times a week at the New Canaan High School track. The 10-week session runs through May 31. The club is sponsored by New Balance of New Canaan, and runners can compete in meets sanctioned by U.S.A. Track and Field. Westport 7th-Grade Boys Rally Past St. Mary's WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Police Athletic League 7th-grade boys basketball team overcame a 10-point deficit with less than five minutes remaining to defeat St. Mary’s of Ridgefield, 56-53, in the Fairfield County Basketball League. Westport improved to 12-6 overall and stands at 6-2 in the A Division of the league. Mack Muller, Ben Casparius and Sean Pritchett each scored in double figures in the win over Ridgefield, and also provided strong defense.
