Scrappy Norwalk High Falls to St. Joseph NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk High School’s boys basketball team pushed undefeated St. Joseph to the brink Wednesday before falling short, 50-45, in a Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game in Norwalk. Norwalk-based Cheerleaders Win National Event NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk-based Xtreme Cheer Blaze rallied from behind over the weekend to win the national title in the Platinum Athletic Championships in Providence, R.I. The  Blaze, which has Fairfield County athletes up to age 18, were in third place after the first day of the two-day event. The Blaze won the competition with a big performance on Sunday. Staples Swimmers Splash Past Wilton WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples’ boys swim team used its depth and a strong performance by junior Nathaniel Boley Monday to splash past Wilton, 106-77. It was the Westport high school's third straight victory. Staples, 5-2, returns to the pool Wednesday against the co-op Fairfield team.
