Wynne Wins 3 Races as Staples Takes Division Title WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples junior Henry Wynne won three events to lead the Wreckers to the boys indoor track championship Saturday at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference's Western Division championships at Wilton High School. Wynne won the 1,000, 1,600 and 3,200 for Staples, which finished with 185.5 points. Danbury was second with 132. Danbury’s girls won the indoor track team title with 137, while Staples girls took second with 96. Young Stamford Wrestlers Compete in County Tourney STAMFORD, Conn. – Member of the Stamford Junior Wrestling Warriors competed Saturday at the Western Connecticut Elementary League championships in Danbury. Eleven teams competed in the tournament, including young wrestlers from New Milford, Danbury, Bethel, New Fairfield, Redding, Pomperaug and Trumbull. The Stamford team is coached by Jaime Camacho and Mike Battinelli. Dean Lucente is the director of the elementary program.

Staples Girls Suffer 3rd Straight Loss WESTPORT, Conn. – Fairfield Warde basketball coach Dave Danko focused on defending Staples’ dynamic tandem of Jess Coelho and Erica Stein during Friday’s important Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game. Further evidence came Friday in a convincing 52-40 victory over Staples. Evaluations Scheduled for Wilton Little Leaguers WILTON, Conn. – Softball evaluations and makeup baseball evaluations for players in the Wilton Little League will be held Sunday at Wilton High School. Fairfield County Runners Hit Buildup Starting Line FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn – Runners can expect good running conditions in Fairfield County Sunday morning for the second leg of the Boston Buildup Series in Ridgefield. The 15-kilometer race was postponed last Sunday because of slick roads. Sundays’s forecast is much more favorable, with a high temperature in the low 40s.
