New Canaan 7th-Graders Win Ridgefield Tourney NEW CANAAN, Conn. — The New Canaan boys seventh-grade Black basketball team rebounded from two tough losses last weekend to win the Ridgefield Basketball Invitational Tournament for the second year in a row. The week started off on Wednesday evening with a convincing win over host Ridgefield, 45-23. Fairfield Prep Runner Earns Millrose Invite FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Prep runner Connor Rog earned an invitation to compete in the prestigious Millrose Games on Feb. 11 at The Armory in New York. The senior was also named Monday as the state’s Gatorade Runner of the Year. Rog will compete in the high school mile at the Millrose Games. He earned the invitation with a time of 4:20.08 in the Millrose Trials on Jan. 11. Fairfield Warde Runners Set School Records FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Warde runners set several school records at the Yale Track Classic indoor track and field meet over the weekend in New Haven. Distance runner Harry Warnick ran the 3,000 in 8:43.14 to finish third in Saturday’s Section 1 race. Warnick’s heat was the fast of 11 races in the event.
