The Bonnies improved to 13-2, while Sacred Heart fell to 9-4. Callan Taylor scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Sacred Heart. It was her eighth double-double and her fifth game with 20 or more points. Enjoli Bland added 11 rebounds, while Gabrielle Washington and Blair Koniszewski added 11 points apiece. Weston Girls Net Second Win WESTON, Conn. – Ellie Martin scored 17 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to lead Weston’s girls basketball team past Oxford, 46-29, in a South-West Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night. Weston improved to 2-5 on the season as it built a 24-9 halftime lead and cruised to the win. Lianna Hursch added 14 points for the Trojans, while Taylor Swanson had nine points and six assists. Anna Mahony contributed four points and 10 rebounds. Weston returns to action Friday when it hosts Masuk at 7 p.m.

New Canaan's Hanley Stars for Bowdoin NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan’s Will Hanley scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Tuesday as the Bowdoin College men’s basketball team routed Plymouth State, 88-66. Hanley, a senior, has seven games with double figures in points and rebounds as Bowdoin has raced to an 8-2 start. Hanley has been the leader for Bowdoin, including winning the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Player of the Week award in late December. Stevens, a senior from Trinity Catholic, missed the first 10 games with a knee injury. She made her first start for the Red Storm (8-6) on Dec. 31 in a 75-38 win over Boston University. Record-Setting Week WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples' boys and girls track teams turned in strong performances, including setting a school record, at meets during the holiday break. The team of Courtney Mullen, Caroline Smith, Caroline Koenig and Georgia Kursten ran 13:26:11 to finish sixth in the Rhode Island Classic and break a school record. Mullen, Siobahn O’Loughlin, Smith and Kursten also finished sixth in the 4 x 800 relay, coming in at 10:28.68. The boys competed at the Bacon Academy Invitational. Tourney STAMFORD, Conn. – Fresh off a three-medal performance last month in the Terry Conners Open, the Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating Team heads to Massachusetts this weekend for the Colonial Classic in Lowell. The Shadows, the team’s oldest skaters, won the gold medal in the Terry Conners meet. The Sprites, a beginner team, won bronze while the Shimmers, a pre-juvenile squad, took pewter. The boys are 4-1 under first-year coach Mike Hvizdo, with their only loss to unbeaten Ridgefield in the finals of a tournament last week in Ridgefield.
