Basketball Tryouts Planned Set a Carver Center NORWALK, Conn. – The Carver Youth Basketball League will hold tryouts for its boys teams on Saturday, Nov. 5. Tryouts for boys in grades 4-6 will be held from noon-1:15 p.m. Players in grades 7 and 8 will try out from 1:15-2:30 p.m. Players should sign up at the Carver Center weekdays from 1-7 p.m. The fee is $65. Connecticut Boat Club Finds Gold in Philadelphia FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Connecticut Boat Club rowers went 5-for-5 last weekend at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, winning one gold, three silver and one bronze medal in the five races it entered. CBC, based in Norwalk and including rowers from throughout Fairfield County, won the 17-and-under 4+. The Varsity 4+, Varsity 8 and Non-Varsity 8 finished second.
