Neither golfer held more than a 1-up lead until the very end as both showed the games that allowed them to reach the finals of this two-day, match play championship. Westport Race is Only Local Option This Weekend WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Summer Series 6.85 miler on Saturday at 8 a.m. is the only race around for Fairfield County runners this weekend. Luke McCambley and Catherine Galin of Westport won last week's race, a 5.9 miler. Saturday's race is the seventh in a 10-race series that concludes with a 10-mile race on Sept. 3. Runners do have an interesting alternative on Tuesday in the Summer Cross Country Series at Waveny Park. He will play Jeremy Wall Friday in the semifinals. Humphrey, 15, won 7 & 6 over James Wolfangel in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Humphrey defeated Christopher Troy of Greenwich, 4 & 3. Norwalk Cop Leads Lifters at Stamford Meet STAMFORD, Conn. – Team Connecticut weightlifter Tom Sullivan, a Fairfield resident and newly appointed Norwalk police officer, and Lesbia Cruz were named the Men's and Women's Outstanding lifters at the Connecticut Open on Sunday at Bluestreak Sports Training in Stamford. Sullivan lifted a personal best 122 kilograms (268 pounds) in the snatch lift and 144 kilograms (317 pounds) in the clean and jerk.
