New Canaan Police: Craigslist Painter Accepted Job But Didn't Do Any Work NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Stamford man who advertised painting services on Craigslist was arrested after police said a New Canaan resident hired him for a job that he never started. The New Canaan resident responded to an ad posted by 53-year-old Wesley Kendall in August of 2015 and hired him to perform painting services at his home, police said. The two signed a contract, and the homeowner paid Kendall a deposit of $1,900. According to police, Kendall cashed the check but never performed any service.
