Bishop Driving Recklessly On I-95 Tried To Convince Troopers He Was A Cop WESTPORT, Conn. -- A clergyman with a criminal history tried to convince police that he was a New York City detective when he was stopped in Westport after driving up the highway with emergency lights flashing, according to police. State police received numerous 911 calls at around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday of an SUV driving up I-95 north with its emergency lights activated. The calls first reported seeing the SUV near exit 3 in Greenwich. Stratford Driver Arrested After Truck Goes Into Norwalk River NORWALK, Conn. — A Stratford man was arrested on drunken driving charges in connection with an accident in Norwalk in May where he rolled his truck down an embankment into a river, according to the Hour. Police responded to the Norwalk River near the railroad crossing at Perry Avenue the night of May 22 on a report of a vehicle in the water, the Hour reported. Three Arrested After Stamford Raid Turns Up Drugs And A Gun STAMFORD, Conn. -- Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges Tuesday in a raid at a Stamford motel, according to the Stamford Advocate. The arrests were part of an undercover operation where officers purchased heroin and crack, the Stamford Advocate reported. Rhode Island Man Brought Back To New Canaan On Witness Tampering Charge NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Rhode Island man was taken back to New Canaan this week to face a number of charges, including tampering with a witness. New Canaan Police traveled to the Rhode Island Correctional Facility on Wednesday to pick up 31-year-old Keith Duncan and bring him back to Connecticut on an extraditable arrest warrant. Stamford Teen Busted With Pot In Royle School Parking Lot DARIEN, Conn. -- A Stamford teen was issued an infraction last week after he was found with a pot cookie and paraphernalia in the parking lot of Royle Elementary School in Darien. Police said that on Monday, April 10 a car was seen backed into a corner parking spot at the school at around 9:40 p.m. When the 18-year-old driver spotted a marked police car in the area, he started to leave the lot and was stopped, police said. New Canaan Police: Craigslist Painter Accepted Job But Didn't Do Any Work NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Stamford man who advertised painting services on Craigslist was arrested after police said a New Canaan resident hired him for a job that he never started. The New Canaan resident responded to an ad posted by 53-year-old Wesley Kendall in August of 2015 and hired him to perform painting services at his home, police said. The two signed a contract, and the homeowner paid Kendall a deposit of $1,900. According to police, Kendall cashed the check but never performed any service.
