Norwalk River Valley Trail Reopens Wilton Loop After Dog-Coyote Encounter WILTON, Conn. — The Norwalk River Valley Trail has reopened the Wilton Loop after it had been closed this week following an encounter between a coyote and a dog. The dog was not injured in the encounter, but broke free from its owner after spotting the coyote on the trail at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the area south of Sharp Hill Road, according to Wilton Police. The Wilton Loop was then closed for a couple days while Wilton Animal Control and representatives of the NRVT worked to ensure that the area was safe. Unsolved Fairfield County Murders Featured On New Cold Case Playing Cards FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Several unsolved murders that have taken place in Fairfield County in recent years are included in a new edition of "cold case" playing cards that are available to inmates throughout the Connecticut correctional system. Trio Arrested In Robbery, Assault Of Teen In Monroe MONROE, Conn. -- Three people were arrested and charged with beating a Monroe 16-year-old and robbing him of his cellphone last week, according to police. Police responded to Fox Run Lane on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery. Teen Arrested With Loaded Semiautomatic Pistol In His Pocket STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford teen who was trying to hide from police was found with a loaded semiautomatic pistol in his pocket, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police were patrolling on Williams Street late at night when they saw a teen crouching behind a parked car, the Stamford Advocate reported. Crash Into Pole Closes Section Of Greens Farms Road In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Part of Greens Farms Road in Westport is closed Tuesday after a car crashed into a telephone pole. Police said that the one-car accident occurred at around 3:46 p.m. Tuesday. As a result, Greens Farms Road is closed between Prospect Road and the Sherwood Island Connector for a significant period of time while repairs are made to the telephone pole. Stamford Police: Woman Slashes Victim During Attempted Purse-Snatching STAMFORD, Conn. — A Bronx woman was charged with attacking another woman and slashing her head while stealing her purse Saturday in Stamford, according to the Stamford Advocate. Stamford Man Who Left Loaded Gun In Stepson's Bag Arrested STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man who left a loaded gun in his stepson's bag of food turned himself in to police on reckless endangerment charges last week, according to the Stamford Advocate. Driver Fleeing Greenwich Crash Leaves Tooth Behind GREENWICH, Conn. — A man charged with crashing his car and fleeing the scene in Greenwich last year left a tooth and lots of alcohol behind when he left, according to Greenwich Time. Police told Greenwich Time that 35-year-old Jonathan Negron of Mohegan Lake, N.Y. crashed his Audi into a utility pole near the intersection of Riversville Road and John Street on May 25, then jumped out of his car and fled the scene.
