Rain, Sleet And Snow To Kick Off Wet And Cold Weekend In New Canaan FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Parts of Fairfield County could experience some ice accumulation or flooding as a result of the rain and sleet that's expected to last into Saturday. Friday and Saturday will see periods of a wintry mix of rain, sleet and some wet snow, according to the National Weather Service. Bridgeport Officer Who Shot Teenage Robbery Suspect Identified BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bridgeport officer involved in the non-fatal shooting of a teenage robbery suspect Wednesday night has been identified as Keith Hanson, according to the Connecticut Post. At about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, after an attempted street robbery, Bridgeport Police Detectives confronted the 18-year-old male and 16-year-old male robbery suspects in the area of 436 Woodmont Ave., state police said. Bridgeport Man Pleads Guilty To Distributing Heroin In Monroe Death BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man pleaded guilty Thursday to distributing heroin that led to a fatal overdose in Monroe last year, according to Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for the district of Connecticut. Daquone Johnson, 24, was arrested in June in connection with the May 9 overdose, Daly said. On that date, police and medical personnel responded to a home in Monroe after a 30-year-old woman was found unresponsive. Stamford Health Aide Charged With Stealing 92-Year-Old Woman's Credit Card STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford woman has been charged with stealing the credit card of a 92-year-old woman with dementia after working for her as a home health aide for one day, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that 28-year-old Tashi Sistrunk cared for the woman once on Dec. 10, and stole the woman's credit card. She used it to purchase $30 worth of gas, and also tried to use it on a $20 charge at a laundromat and $105 worth of groceries but it was denied in those transactions, according to the Stamford Advocate. Bridgeport Man Found Guilty Of Murder In Shooting Death BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was found guilty of murder Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old in 2014, according to the Connecticut Post. Connecticut Lab Warns Of Increase In Lyme-Carrying Ticks FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- This year could be a bad one for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses in Connecticut, as an unusually high number of ticks have so far tested positive for the bacterium that causes Lyme, according to the Connecticut Post. Bridgeport Schools Name New Superintendent BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Public Schools Interim Superintendent Aresta Johnson has been appointed to serve in the position permanently, according to the Connecticut Post.
